Keep your paddle protected in style with this crochet Pickleball Paddle Cover! Featuring a fun pickle and heart design, this cover is perfect for pickleball lovers who want to add a little personality to their gear. Whether you’re making one for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for your favorite pickleball partner, this paddle cover adds a handmade touch while helping protect your paddle from scratches or scuffs when it’s traveling in your bag to and from the court!
This Pickleball Paddle Cover is made using intarsia crochet techniques to create the colorwork design. Size & Gauge

- Turned Rows: Each panel is worked in turned rows of SC stitches. Ch 1 and turn at end of each row (does not count towards stitch count).

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Colorwork Graph
Each box in the graph counts as one SC stitch. Read from bottom right (or left if left-handed) working back-and-forth. ODD rows are RS, EVEN are WS. Use bobbins for background, black, and purple to minimize floats.

2. Paddle Cover Panels (Make 2)
Colors: A – Background, B – Black, C – Dark Green, D – Medium Green, E – Light Green, F – Purple, G – Pink
- Row 1: In color A, ch 21, SC in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across, ch 1, turn (20)
- Row 2: INC in first st, SC in each st across, INC in last st, ch 1, turn (22)
- Row 3: INC in first st, SC in each st across, INC in last st, ch 1, turn (24)
- Row 4: INC in first st, SC in each st across, INC in last st, ch 1, turn (26)
- Row 5: INC in first st, SC in each st across, INC in last st, ch 1, turn (28)
- Row 6: INC in first st, SC in each st across, INC in last st, ch 1, turn (30)
- Row 7: INC in first st, SC in each st across, INC in last st, ch 1, turn (32)
- Row 8: INC in first st, SC in each st across, INC in last st, ch 1, turn (34)
- Row 9: INC in first st, SC in each st across, INC in last st, ch 1, turn (36)
- Row 10: INC in first st, SC in each st across, INC in last st, ch 1, turn (38)
- Row 11: INC in first st, SC in each st across, INC in last st, ch 1, turn (40)
The design will now be worked following the graph. The row count will start at 1 again.
- Rows 1-40: SC in each st across. Follow the graph for the color changes. Chain 1 and turn after each row. (40)
Next, taper the top. Row count continues. Keep working in main color A.
- Row 41: SC DEC, SC next 36 sts, SC DEC, ch 1, turn (38)
- Row 42: SC DEC, SC next 34 sts, SC DEC, ch 1, turn (36)
- Row 43: SC DEC, SC next 32 sts, SC DEC, ch 1, turn (34)
- Row 44: SC DEC, SC next 30 sts, SC DEC, ch 1, turn (32)
- Row 45: SC DEC, SC next 28 sts, SC DEC, ch 1, turn (30)
- Row 46: SC DEC, SC next 26 sts, SC DEC, ch 1, turn (28)
- Row 47: SC in each st across (28)
Do not ch 1 or turn. Next, single crochet a border around the outside of the panel. Join with a slip stitch. Fasten off.
Work up the second panel the exact same size as the first. This one is plain, so skip all colorwork in rounds 1-40 and use the main color.

3. Joining the Panels
Place one panel on top of the other, “right sides” facing out.
- Make a slipknot and join it to a stitch at the corner just after the diagonal (around row 1 of colorwork section). Join through inner loops only (back loop of top, front loop of bottom).
- Ch 1, sl st in same st. Sl st in inner loops all the way around. Stop on the other side at the diagonal taper.

Fasten off. You should have a pocket shape with a large open area at the bottom.
4. Adding the Buttons
- Button Loops: With front side facing you, find center two stitches on one diagonal side. Join yarn in right center stitch. Ch 10 (tighter tension) and sl st to next stitch on left. Fasten off. Repeat for other side.

- Buttons: Flip cover to back. Line up button with loop and sew in place approx half inch from edge. Repeat for other side.
You are all finished your pickleball paddle cover!
