My Notes: Pam has designed a lovely, center-out design that could read as both floral and geometric, depending on your color choices. There are a variety of stitches for interest and texture, but the last few rounds make it easy to adjust for size. This pattern is a relaxing one to make, with just enough to challenge beginners ready to expand their skills!

Sizing: My square was getting a bit big, so to get to 12″ I skipped Rnd 14 and worked Rnd 15 as hdc instead of sc. But everyone’s gauge is different, so be sure to measure as you go! Learn how to adjust for size HERE to ensure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down, not diagonally/corner to corner.

What I Did:

I used a Susan Bates US-J, 6.0 mm Twist and Lock hook, and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows (see pics for more info on placement):

Rnd 1: Cornsilk
Rnd 2:
Mallard
Rnds 3 and 4:
Merlot
Rnds 5 and 6:
Boysenberry
Rnd 7:
Merlot
Rnd 8:
Black
Rnd 9:
Merlot
Rnd 10:
Cornsilk
Rnds 11 and 12: Boysenberry
Rnd 13: Mallard
Rnd 14: Skipped for size
Rnd 15: Black

This square required a mild blocking, so I used the wet blocking method
