Gauge

Using the 4-mm (G) hook, make a MC.

Round 1. Ch 2, dc 12 in MC, join with a sl st in first dc. (12 sts)
Round 2. Ch 2, dc inc 12, join by sl st. (24 sts)
Round 3. Ch 1, *2 FPdc in first st, 1 FPdc in next st, 2 BPdc in next st, 1 BPdc in next st*, repeat from * all around, join by sl st into the first st. (36 sts).
Round 4. Ch 1, *2 FPdc in first st, 1 FPdc in the next 2 sts, 2 BPdc in next st, 1 BPdc in the next 2 sts*, repeat from * all around, join by sl st into the first st. (48 sts)

You should obtain a circle of 7 cm (2.75”).

Construction

The Basketweave Baby Beanie is crocheted top-down working in the round. Each round is joined with a slip stitch into the first stitch.

Crochet Basketweave Baby Beanie – Free Pattern

0-3 months

Using the 4-mm (G) hook, make a MC.

1. Ch 2, crochet 12 dc in MC, join with a sl st in first dc. (12 sts)
2. Ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, join by sl st. (24 sts)
3. Ch 1, *2 FPdc in first st, 1 FPdc in next st, 2 BPdc in next st, 1 BPdc in next st*, repeat from * all around, join by sl st into the first st. (36 sts).
4. Ch 1, *2 FPdc in first st, 1 FPdc in the next 2 sts, 2 BPdc in next st, 1 BPdc in the next 2 sts*, repeat from * all around, join by sl st into the first st. (48 sts)

5. Ch 1, *2 BPdc in first st, 1 BPdc in the next 3 sts, 2 FPdc in next st, 1 FPdc in the next 3 sts*, repeat from * all around, join by sl st into the first st. (60 sts)

6-7. Ch 1, *1 BPdc in the first 5 sts, 1 FPdc in the next 5 sts*, repeat from * all around, join by sl st into the first st. (60 sts)
